Wyck Hill House reclaims its place as the gem of the Cotswolds

Posted: under Uncategorized.

The Wyck Hill House Hotel, a four-star hotel set in 100 acres of stunning Cotswolds countryside, has regained its place as one of the area's premier venues.

After reopening earlier this year following a major refurbishment programme, the hotel has been receiving rave reviews from guests and industry professionals alike. The latest assessment of Wyck Hill House by Gloucester-based arts and leisure magazine SoGlos, describes the 18th century manor as 'country house elegance at its best'.

Making reference to the charming building, elegant bedrooms, friendly staff and fine dining, the magazine said: 'The new owners have done a fine job of drawing upon the manor's original charm while creating a relaxed atmosphere.

'From the decadent reception, original library and excellent restaurant to the unique rooms, extensive grounds and talking-point cigar shack, no expense has been spared in re-launching this Stow-on-the-Wold venue as a truly luxurious Gloucestershire retreat.'

The praise follows hot on the heels of a review by The Telegraph which described the hotel as 'a successful hybrid between a traditional country house hotel and modern retreat', giving special mention to the 100-acre tiered gardens and oak-panelled library.

Wyck Hill has also become a favourite with celebrating couples looking for a romantic hotel. Not only can they make the most out of the manor's breathtaking location and gardens, but also spoil themselves with facilities which include a luxurious spa, as well as enjoy local attractions such as the picturesque town of Burford and Cheltenham Racecourse. Wyck Hill House certainly seems to have cemented its place as one of Britain's most luxurious hotels.

'We're delighted at the feedback we have received since reopening the hotel following the refurbishment. A considerable amount of work has been put by all the staff at Wyck Hill House and it is pleasing to see their efforts being recognised, our sole aim is to ensure guests have a relaxing stay in one of the most the most beautiful parts of Britain, while enjoying the highest standards of hospitality in a truly magnificent building.'

Bali Villa Rentals – Tips for Holidaying in Canggu, Seminyak and Others

Posted: under Uncategorized.

Avid travellers and Luxury Villa specialists, the staff from Villa Getaways share their favourite holiday destinations and tips for making luxury travel dreams a reality. Here are some tips on what to pack for your Balinese holiday.

Bali is one of the premier holiday hotspots in the World. Frequented by one-time holiday-goers and repeat visitors, Bali is renowned for its lively nightlife, beautiful beaches, perfect waves, and diverse culture and cuisine. If you haven't travelled to Bali before, it can be hard to decide what to leave out of those bursting suitcases. Here's some advice, arrive with an (almost) empty suitcase.

Clothes
Bali is well known as a shopping mecca with bargains galore. For this reason, when packing for your Balinese holiday, the general advice given is to bring an almost empty suitcase and fill it as you shop. We recommend you bring a selection of light, casual clothing that you can easily layer. Natural fibres like cotton or linen are the most comfortable in Bali's humid climate. If you're planning on adventuring, bring some sturdy walking shoes. NO winter coats or fur boots to Bali! Its proximity to the equator (8 degrees) dictates its year round average temperature of 31 deg Celsius (mid-80s°F) and extreme humidity, especially from October to April, the Wet Season. The days from June to August are blessed with refreshing cool breezes. The central mountain areas such as Ubud offer cooler climes, and you may need light jackets (jumpers) and warm socks at night.

The Balinese generally dress modestly and it is seen as a mark of respect to do likewise while visiting their country. While casual clothes like shorts and strappy tops are perfectly acceptable about town, you will be expected to cover up with long pants and dresses when visiting any of Bali's numerous, lovely temples. Many temples provide the obligatory sarong and sash for visitors.

Health
Bring any medication you need regularly as pharmacies are not plentiful and it always easier to read and follow the labels on your own products. Don't forget to bring plenty of sunscreen, you don't want to begin your holiday with a sunburn from exposure to the strong equatorial sun. Some tropical strength insect repellent may also be a good idea, depending on where you will be on the island. At all costs, don't be tempted to bring any recreational drugs. Drug related offences carry the death penalty and there are already plenty of foreign "guests" residing in the Government Prison Service.

Travel Documents
Photocopy all of your travel documents and credit cards and store them separately from your wallet. If anything should happen to your original travel documents, having copies will make recovery or replacement much easier.

At Villa Getaways we pride ourselves on our service and attention to detail. We travel to Bali regularly so we can assist with all your travel questions. To make your stay as memorable as possible, our complimentary services include an escort to and from your Villa, welcome at arrival, housekeeping, maid service, concierge services, security. Additional services range from private Chef service, onsite Spa service, helicopter transfers and anything else you wish to have.

Our Bali villa rentals are located all over the island so you can choose whether you wish to be close to shopping, nightlife, or right on the beach. Please don't hesitate to contact us for more information or visit the website http://www.balivillagetaways.com/
